DataDot Commercial, the Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) and the Construction Mining and Engineering Industry Group (CMEIG) have announced a joint initiative to develop programs that will help reduce theft in the Industry. The first initiative will be the launch of the highly successful Whole of Vehicle marking program ( used in over 1m cars world wide) for the heavy Plant Industry. A number of large manufacturers have alrady signed up for the program which will see them putting 10,000 DataDots on the vehicle before it is delivered to the customer. The DataDot's have been encrypted with a unique PIN that relates back to the original serial number of the vehicle. They in turn are then registered on the DataDotDNA National Register which is accessed on by Police.

Thieves of plant and equipment be very aware that DataDots are almost invisible and if you are caught in possession of goods that are not yours then you will be prosecuted. That is the message that will be sent throughout the Industry by the CCF and CMEIG
